This Christmas Costume jewellery steals the spotlight. The bigger the better… statement jewellery is BACK! With all the twinkly lights on the tree this Christmas be sure to make yourself stand out with some sparkly decoration of your own. This season is all about glamour, and what could be more glamorous than big, brash sparkly neck wear?
With the likes of Chanel show casing over sized neck wear, new designers such as Allumer are on top form with their statement neck wear, which in more ways than one spells out what the wearer is thinking!
Allumer, the jewellery brand that cemented a thousand friendships, has just made it chicer than ever to get it off your chest with the launch of Alphallumer – a solid gold alphabet that will allow you to say it in style. With a coloured chain and solid gold letters that are easily attached they can say ‘party’ even if your outfit doesn’t.
The catwalks were full of high drama for autumn/winter 2008 showing statement necklaces or oversize cuffs as essential party wear come Christmas, especially as the perfect accessory for this seasons little black dress.
With even the more classical jeweller, Tiffany and Co following suit and vamping up their more traditional pieces with over-sized stones and bright colours they assure us that style is legendary.
It’s not only the sparkle on your clothes this winter but the sequins, satin and sparkle of your accessories that will determine how catwalk clued up you are this fall.
This season, if nothing else, inject your look with attitude and eye-catching pieces as winter’s fashion is for strong independent women everywhere.
The place is unrecognisable since the refurbishment. Ever since it opened there has been a steady flow of students all day long.
Potato chips and French fries are the dish of the day for Sunderland students at the newly open Campus club.
The American-themed clubhouse has been an astonishing success since its development over the summer. Campus, previously known as Manor Quay, has undergone a serious makeover to encourage more students to use their union.
Kath, who works at Campus, said: “The place is unrecognisable since the refurbishment. Ever since it opened there has been a steady flow of students all day long.”
Attractions for clubbers include themed nights and celebrity guests as well as the new food menu which all contribute to its success.
The food on offer will take its inspiration from America to match its newly themed bar, serving burgers, hot dogs and French fries.
Holly Smith, a student at Sunderland University, said: “The new frat house style Campus is much better than before.
They have lots more on offer and the place is packed on a night out now.”
Campus now rivals local clubs and bars, which before had more to offer to the fun loving university students.
Last Wednesday Campus held its first official popcorn night that proved to be a big success.
Kath who worked that night said it was ‘the busiest night so far’ and thinks this is only the beginning for the club.
The future looks set to be bright for Campus with guests such as Paul Weller on the cards for next year.
